UC Berkeley biochemist and IGI Exec.Director, Jennifer Doudna, joins oncologist Siddhartha Mukherjee to discuss various advancements in genome editing and the effect new technologies will have on the future of humanity. In the dicsussion held on 07Feb2018 and organised as a free public event to celebrate UC Berkeleyโ€™s 150th Anniversary year, they touch upon emergerging medical technologies and some profound questions on gene-editing and the future of medical technology.

Dr.Doudna who co-shared the 2020 Nobel prize in Chemistry (with Emmanuelle Charpentier) has been instrumental in the developement of CRISPR-Cas9 gene editing tool and is the author of A Crack in Creation. Dr.Mukherjee is a celebrated oncologist and researcher known for his Pulitzer wining book for non fiction in 2011 titled The Emperor of All Maladies: A Biography of Cancer. His other equally well know book is The Gene: An Intimate History.
