Bharat Ek Khoj(भारत एक खोज), based on Jawaharlal Nehru's celebrated book - The Discovery of India, is a 53 Episode historical drama that chronicles India's history from it's beginnings 5000years back upto it's independence from the British rule in 1947. It is an amazing journey covering the political, social and cultural landmarks in the evolution of the Indian Civilization - a multi-cultural, multi-religious, multi-ethnic and pluralistic society.

It was produced and direted by the noted Indian director and screenwriter Shyam Benegal for Doordarshan (Government of India’s Public Service Broadcaster) and was aired, starting in November 1988, every Sunday for a full year.
